Re:Verse passage – Mark 1:1-8 (day one)

Thank you, Brian, for reminding us how this study of the Holy Spirit will have a direct impact on informing how we go forth in witnessing. We need to be preparing our hearts and minds with God’s Word so that we are ready to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit as he leads us to those He brings into our lives.
I must say the start of Matthew brings excitement. Just reading prior scripture, the meeting of Mary and Elizabeth and that spark of godly recognition as both women bore God’s earthly children assigned with the eternal plan to come. Just imagine the life of John as he was “the messenger” and “the announcer” of the Christ that so many anticipated through prophecy. God’s truth moves forward as John announces to a massive crowd in such a moving moment This is the Lord. Now I am getting ahead of myself. I pray that our hearts will overflow with the word of God, and our Hearts leap with godly confidence because God is in us, dwells in us, and is all that we hear with our ears, and go forward in confidence as God guides us with the sweet whispers of His Spirit. What a privilege..What a joy divine! Holy Spirit Breathe on me.
I like the distinction John makes at the end of this passage between the way he baptizes and the way Jesus will baptize. There is a clear and strong difference that demonstrates the receiving of the Holy Spirit separate from the baptism with water.
Bryan, I for one love your socks! I have a niece who seldom wears matching socks, and they are always filled with design and color, and I celebrate that!
Believe it or not, I went through school a “C” student, struggling hard to attain a “B” and an occasional “A”. My brain is far from the brightest light on the porch. If anything profound comes from me, it’s got to be the Holy Spirit in me. There is no other explanation. I’ve lived all my life “preparing” and am still in the process of doing so. May we all be, and may that preparation be the Holy Spirit’s instruments.
