All flesh

Re: Verse reading–Acts 2:1-41 (day one)

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams”–v 17-18

Pentecost was what God promised!  What John predicted.  What Jesus prepared us to receive. (See John 20:22)  The blessings of God’s Spirit poured out on all flesh!   Not “all” in the sense of “every”, but “all” in the sense that no one is excluded by gender or age or social standing.  Sons/daughters.  Young/old.  “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”–Romans 10:13.  Whoever is saved will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit–Acts 2:38.

In the Old Testament era, the Holy Spirit came to a small, selective group of people.  In the New Testament era, the church age, He comes in power to ALL OF US.

  1. Very pleased to know this, “The blessings of God’s Spirit poured out on all flesh! Not “all” in the sense of “every”, but “all” in the sense that no one is excluded by gender or age or social standing. Sons/daughters. Young/old. “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”–Romans 10:13. Whoever is saved will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit–Acts 2:38.”

God created diversity on earth; and that is a wonderful thing. Life will be more enriched when we understand and value diversity. Have you realized that you like to wear different outfits and with different styles or looks, or do not like to eat the same food all the times? If the answer is a Yes, you like diversity. I hope we all value diversity in people and cultures! People and cultures come in in all shapes and forms!

Because God created all flesh, He does not discriminate. He has set a great example for us to follow. Embracing diversity is a good thing and will please God. As we please God, He will send His helper, the Holy Spirit, to live in us and empower us to do the right thing to help others we love or in need and to make a difference for His glory! I am always convinced!

Diversity is the strength for the church. God equipts each of us with different spiritual gifts to do His work and calls on us at different times for different assignments. No one is a waste. No single skill is a waste. We can be different in our approach to get things done or to resolve a conflict, but when we value the differences as the result of diversity in people and cultures and spiritual skills, the outcomes will always be better and will have more chance to succeed. Diversity is beyond race and gender!

We know what God wants for His believers to follow and to do. Go for God!
