Encouragement

Re:Verse reading–Acts 23:11, 25:12, 28:16-31 (day five)

Acts 28:15 And the brothers there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. On seeing them, Paul thanked God and took courage.

I spent time yesterday thanking the Lord for FBCSA.  A place where the fellowship among the members and presence of the Lord is such an encouragement and joy to so many (including me).

Sing or say these words with me today…

“There’s a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place,
And I know that it’s the Spirit of the Lord;
There are sweet expressions on each face,
And I know they feel the presence of the Lord.
Sweet Holy Spirit, Sweet heavenly Dove,
Stay right here with us, filling us with Your love.
And for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise;
Without a doubt we’ll know that we have been revived,
When we shall leave this place.”

Will look forward to gathering Sunday and finding the Lord and the encouragement His Spirit provides!

  1. Scott Lane, thank you for being the encourager to my family. Words just are not enough. Prayed and praised you yesterday. Thank you for always being there for him.

  2. We all need encouragement and support throughout life. Some may need more than others. What an amazing gift of encouragement we can offer to one another and to others! Encouragement can provide people with strength to look ahead, move forward, and reach for the next goal. We lift each other up through encouragement and support. Somehow things seem a little brighter. Somehow, there are days that are more hopeful than some other days.

    A little encouragement goes a long way. Give praise to the Lord; give praise to those who do a great job beyond expectation; give praise to those who help others in times of darkness or hopelessness; give praise to those who go the extra mile to serve a cause that is bigger than himself or herself. People appreciate knowing what they do for others is appreciated and valued.

    There are so many ways to express appreciation and to provide encouragement and support to others; however, whichever form the encouragement takes, it carries amazing potential to lift a person’s spirits while helping them to stay focused on their goals.

    A “thank you” expression can move mountains and is a great way to express praise, to encourage others to do the same or to do more.

    Encouragement helps strengthen the weak, steady the faltering and console the troubled. It is God’s medicine. Encouragement and hope go hand-in-hand. God’s promise of an eternal life to believers gives us tremendous encouragement to follow Jesus and to do God’s will until Jesus returns. In God, we see full promises and encouragement!
