Megan, I’m with you this time. I’m good with memorizing “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”. I can walk after a spirit happily forever. And I remind you that the two wise men encouraging forward reading also led us to Adoni-bezek, who, as a judge, regularly collected other people’s big toes and thumbs by appendage removal, to Jael, who seduced Sisero into her tent and, in the middle of the night, nailed his brain to the floor with a tent pin and got praised for it, and to Shamgar, who skewered 600 Philestines with an ox goad. So the jury is out on whether I think proceeding forward on their advice initially is sagacious, especially when anything about laws or judging is involved. However, since we were taught that the organ is intended to lead us forward in collective worship so beautifully yesterday and that “It [the crucifixion] is absolutely necessary,” I might be willing to step three verses out of last week’s comfort zone because Megan says it’s ok.
Now there is no condemnation is a comforting thought but Pastor Chris your sermon Sunday concerning judgement day was troubling to me. Maybe I misunderstood whose sins of commission and omission were going to be displayed . Is it the sins that have not been confessed that each of us will have to hear that has sinned or did the blood of Christ make us blameless for ALL our sins?
