Re:Verse passage – John 18:15-18, 25-27 (day one)
Join us as Senior Pastor Chris Johnson, Associate Pastor Aaron Hufty, and Associate Pastor Bryan Richardson walk us through John 18:15-18, 25-27 in our Winter Re:Verse Series: “The Beauty of Restoration” The Final Days of Jesus in the Gospel of John.
To me, this passage is Peter’s Damascus Road experience. You all are right; these rock-bottom moments were the making of him. Spurgeon wrote that suffering takes us to the depths of our faith, so we know the foundation is solid.
Paul David Tripp says Christmas is the sufferer’s holiday. He encourages those who have experienced the loss of a loved one in the past months not to shun, dread, or avoid this holiday, but to embrace all that it means. Christ came to END all of our suffering. His birth in a manger and death on a cross was to ensure that we could gain access to our Father in heaven where there would be no more tears, no more sorrows or separation from those we love…forever. He also says, “If there was no pain, discouragement or death, there would be no need for Christ.”
Thank you for helping us connect all the threads of the Bible!
