One clear example of the servant leadership commanded at the heart of this passage has been our church staff’s carrying meal plates to every individual seated at tables at the Pastor’s Lunch Bunch – an actual practical need met, an effective object lesson taught, and a powerful theological truth personified. I’ve heard great things about the Tuesday lunches with the pastor, one of them being how the staff serves the food. We realize it has been a scramble to accommodate so many attendees, but you all have stepped up and demonstrated acts of service by “preachers.” Grateful for all of you!
Yes. That is so interesting. I sat behind Bryan on Sunday and noticed his sockless condition. Maybe he was anticipating a foot washing experience. It definitely captured my attention.
