  1. It seems to me that Solomon started out well and then drifted into the thinking that his wisdom came from himself. Then he stopped trusting God would keep the boarders of his country safe and he started making deals with neighboring nations for peace in exchange for marrying their daughters. Perhaps the lineage of David all had a strong attraction to women; who knows? But whatever the full motive, Solomon’s later drift from God was tragic.

  2. Think of Solomon and the two women with the baby. That was brilliant. No one but God’s power can have made that decision. Love the story. Solomon used his wisdom more than we know.
