Verse 22 is a powerful reminder that salvation through Jesus was (and is) not to be mixed with the old Judaic system (grace vs. laws).
Respectfully my brother, in my observation, Yes, the additional laws added by the Pharisee’s were not ordained by God, but the covenants and promises that were made to His people (the Jews) were to be kept after His ascension. In verses 19-20 Jesus says:
19 And Jesus said to them, “While the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroom cannot fast, can they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.”
I am also reminded of Matthew 5:17-18:
17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Grateful for you and all you do for the Kingdom my friend!
Excellent.
Word, Bryan! 🙌.
