Re:Verse passage – Romans 8:26-27 (day one)
Join us as Senior Pastor Chris Johnson, Associate Pastor Aaron Hufty and Associate Pastor Bryan Richardson walk us through Romans 8:26-27 in our New Summer Sermon Series: “Living in the Spirit” a study of the Holy Spirit.
Thinking of the Prayer Meeting of this past Wednesday evening. We at FBCSA desperately need tp prioritize a personal and corporate time of earnest and honest Spirit communication with our Lord. The “Two or more Gatherings” around a focus of praising, thanking, confession, repentance, and expression of need promises a Spiritual appearance from our Lord. Should this not be the most important activity of our assembly each week?
Two thoughts came to my mind during your discussion.
I believe everyone should be RESPECTFUL of/to God – in prayer and ALWAYS. However, even if we’re deeply hurting or angry, we should still be honest about it when we talk with God. It’s not like He doesn’t already know; He knows our hearts anyway. Then let the Holy Spirit guide us as to how/what to pray to move forward from there.
Similarly, if we have doubts, we should still me honest with God. Like the man with the demon possessed son, told Jesus, “I believe in You; help my unbelief.”
Thank you gentlemen so much for sharing your knowledge and insights each week.
I wish we could edit & correct a type-o after posting, like we can on FB. In my previous post I meant “….still be” and not “….still me” in the second occurrence of the phrase. ?
