  1. Following Bryan’s train of thought, I think Jesus was inviting the disciples to share in the miracle. To move beyond “we can’t do this” or “You do this” to “how do we do this, Lord?” Yes, He sends us out and we are tasked with using the gifts He has given to care for His people. And yes, we need to come to the realization that we cannot do it on our own. The invitation of the Savior is to join Him in His work.
Thank you, gentlemen, for making Mondays a real blessing!

  2. Sorry: I have it on good authority that it would not be catfish, considered unclean according to the Old Testament because catfish do not typically have scales, a requirement for edible fish. I finally found a place that mentioned three types of fish in the Sea of Galilee, especially in 1st Century: sardines, biny and musht. Another list said sardines, carp and chiclids, biny being three species of the carp family. I know nothing more about that.
What I wonder about is if the bread was sour dough . . . yum!

  3. I stand corrected. Not sour dough . . . see our lesson’s “The Value of Bread” write-up. Ha!
    (I’d still like a taste of it . . . yum!)
