  1. In Oswald Chambers’ look at John 1:51, Nathanael was impressed by Jesus supernaturally knowing who he was. The Lord said, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these…you will see the heavens opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” As you three noted, we aren’t supposed to dwell forevermore in the miracle; it’s just a signpost. Chambers put it this way: “Never say that God intended a man to have a domain of dreaming, mighty visions of God, and at the same time be dead towards God in his actual life. Jesus Christ claims that He can make the real and the actual one, as they were in His own life.”
