Chosen

Re:Verse reading–1 Samuel 9 & 10 (day twoAs Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed Saul’s heart, and all these signs were fulfilled that day. 10:9

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. John 15:16

Make no mistake when the Lord calls you, he changes you. There is never an indication that we get our hearts right, or that we initiate the act of redemption. When God calls, he equips. We are wise to recognize this so that we can return the glory due him as we see his will accomplished in our lives and in the lives of others. He can take you from wherever you may be and transform you into royalty.

  1. It is truly an honor to be chosen to serve God. Serving God is a dignitary position. God has His succession plan for His Ministry!

I do think we can choose God but God is the selecting official who will decide on the selection whether or not we are the best fit to serve His mission. Just like in any recruitment and employment opportunity, we can choose an employer as we see a fit in terms of culture and environments but the employer is the one who decides on the selection based on our eligibility and qualifications. When we are chosen to serve the mission, our employer will provide us with the opportunity for training and for providing us sufficient resources to do our jobs.

God is the sole source of power and authority to choose His team of servicing Him. He established the model for recruitment and selection, and we are to follow and to implement His model. God chooses the right people, with the right spiritual skills, in the right positions at the right time to serve His mission and to glorify Him so we can feel confident that God will provide His selectees sufficient resources, guide, protect and support them along the way.

Humans can make mistakes in recruitment and selection but God will be always right in His decision on recruitment, selection and placement. I am convinced.

I think the following article may shed a little extra light why God chose certain people! I found it is helpful in terms of criteria.

I totally agreed, “When God calls, he equips.” God is an amazing and caring employer! I am sure lots of us, believers, are anxious to get in. When He calls, it will be a happy day for the selectees!!
