Re: Verse reading – Jeremiah 1 (day two)
“Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” Have you said these words? Perhaps it wasn’t about being too young but rather not being qualified for the task to which the Lord has called you. Like Moses, Abraham, David and countless others before and since, Jeremiah voices the question of doubt. It is clear that God doesn’t need us, and yet he chooses to use us to accomplish his will on earth. That is an encouraging thought and more so when you think who he uses. Today remember when you doubt your purpose that he rarely calls the qualified, he just qualifies the called.
Thank you for this post, Aaron. Your words hit home for me this morning. So many times I have felt that that I am unworthy to “tell the good news” because of past sins or lack of knowledge. Then I realized that my doubt was really about being what I thought others thought I should be or how many bible verses I could be remember. I know God uses us all in different ways for His glory. Some to speak to thousands and some to speak to one individual that might hear us. Let us all be knowledgable in the fact that our Lord knows where and when he will use us and for us not to be concerned how many times or with how many people that will be to. Blessings!!
Excellent commentary…so insightful.
The choir never sounded better!
