  1. Your comments brought to my mind a comment David Matthews made in a sermon preached years go at Seventh and James BC in Waco. David was using his son as an example of our intransigence and inertia in our prayer life, and referenced a conversation he and his young son had over cleaning his room. When the instruction FOR cleaning his room had been exhausted with all reason, the young boy said, “Daddy, I can’t want to.”

    Out of the mouths of babes is often revealed our inner nature.

  2. Thank you this morning for putting in words, the concept of “want to want to”. It is very timely for me as I struggle with some things in my life that I NEED to give up because they are barriers to a more pure life in Christ. I WANT TO give it up, but I selfishly fall back. Your analogy has encouraged me to keep wanting and to keep praying. ❤️
