Re:Verse passage – Job 2:1-10, 3:11, 20-26 (day one)
Join us as Senior Pastor Chris Johnson, Associate Pastor Aaron Hufty, and Associate Pastor Bryan Richardson walk us through Job 2:1-10, 3:11, 20-26 in our Spring Re:Verse Series: “JOB – Through the Storm.”
In Job 2: God asks Satan where he has come from and Satan answers “from going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” ESV. I wonder if anyone else has the same feeling that I have, that seems to be exactly what he is doing right now. Satan is prowling like a roaring lion. Looking around our world now that’s what I see.
“Again, there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them to present himself before the Lord.”
Perhaps this is just as much about teaching the S0ns of God vs us. Maybe God raised up Job and put a hedge around for this purpose, like pharaoh but different lesson.
Was Job anymore esteemed by God than the persecuted church members who have given their lives for Christ. I just think there is more going upstairs than we understand. It may be about them also (Sons of God)
